Battle Flag Of The 22ND Virginia Cavalry

This flag was captured by Sgt. Levi Shoemaker of the 1st West Virginia Cavalry at the Battle of Nineveh (Cedarville),  Virginia  on November 19, 1864. Sgt. Shoemaker was awarded the Medal Of Honor for this act.

Today the flag is housed at the Museum of the Confederacy in Richmond, Virginia.
